(sleep for sheep)

(sleep for sheep)

Over head I watch them leap

As they try to lull me fast asleep

If I could simply count the sheep

But I dare not make a peep

For hungry lions lurk beneath

Waiting to sink their lethal teeth

If I make a sound, I’m their fresh meat

Bleeding out, while my sheep bleat

Slaughter me, but not my keep

You lions shall not harm my sheep

If what I sow is what I reap

I’ll be as safe as I keep my sheep

Then by my head in a cozy heap

My leaping sheep finally sleep

I listen to their breathing deep

And lull myself with a silent weep
